They put an htaccess style lock on the site for American IPs today... it'll probably re-open around the 21-23rd, so people will only go without their precious "app" for 3 or 4 days. Oh the horror.
It's just an acquisition. Hopefully whoever buys it will lift every shadowban ever put in place, because TikTok is BY FUCKING FAR the WORST platform for free speech that I've ever seen.
It's a shithole... maybe they'll make improvements to it, but I doubt it. Either way, after Trump reinstates TikTok, he'll become a hero to all of the fruit fly attention spanned doom-scrollers who waste their lives on it.

This morning I saw a picture with a real ladybug.
For the past years I've only seen the fake, pear-shaped Chinese ladybugs.
Seems like if you do lots of trading with China, their ladybugs also get shipped over and replace the native ladybugs.
This evening I saw a "real" round ladybug.

My state is infested by the asian lady beetle and I'm not sure anybody knows the difference anymore.

The beetle I saw was the same size and shape as a ladybug but it was all black with two red dots, and I immediately recognised it as a ladybug.
Seems like the ladybugs be me toned down so they can disappear into the background.
