I love this movie and unlike most of the movies I love, I've only seen it once (pretty sure). I always mention this one along with Interstellar (2014) but the two are quite different so it's not a contest. Two of my favorite movies of all time.

It's only an hour and thirty minutes, so it should only take like 4 hours to commentate on!? *dancing banana*

0:13 it's at this point I realize I'm watching this with my stereo system's audio, lmao... *buckles up and gets ready for super bass, theater sound quality* Actually, I better make sure loudness boost is off before the film gets going, lmao.

0:39 wow man, the silence of space is just incredible. Imagine being up there and seeing that view. It's too bad we couldn't just be up there without suits so we could really grasp the enormity of that silence in contrast to the size of the planet. It'd be so cool to know whether there IS a sound. Maybe it sounds like a gentle, distant roar. Probably not though. Holy crap.

*rewinds to beginning*

0:22 I mean it does literally say "There is nothing to carry sound" sooo. I guess that's that. I just can't imagine that it really sounds like NOTHING though. What a trip.

0:42 why is this making me horny.

*opens strawberry Pop-Tart*

*pauses movie and adds more Pop-Tarts to WalMart shopping cart*

*searches YouTube for random clip to post on another thread*

(This is why it takes me 4 hours to review a 1.5 hour movie.)

1:08 I dunno if it's cuz my stereo is only mono or if the scene is supposed to be this way, but I'ma have to turn on captions.

(Any fucking excuse to turn on captions.)

2:40 okay it's getting slightly louder.

3:30 awwwe, the Hubble Telescope will always have the most special place in my heart, no shade to the James Webb... (Wait, shade? Was that a pun!?!)

3:36 gah, all these foreign accents are making me so hot.

*dropping Pop-Tart crumbs all over keyboard*

4:33 turn the music off!? Wow this lady is no fun. She's acting like this is rocket science or something?!

5:56 George Clooney is really likable in this movie. I'm gonna try to put the bad memories behind me and just enjoy his performance. He was really good in "The Midnight Sky" (2020) as well.

8:05 definite undertones of impending doom... *pretends like I don't know what's gonna happen*

12:00 man this is scary as shit. The movie has an amazing score as well, the sound really heightens everything happening.

12:34 oh my God man, I forgot how terrifying this movie actually is, lmao... 0_0

13:00 this makes it look like this job really sucks!!!

"Mom, I wanna be an astronaut!"

*mom stares ... puts on Gravity*

"Actually... nevermind!?"

14:13 man I hate hollywood, but they've made a few damn good movies.

15:30 I can't say I really remember what actually happens from here on out though, save for a couple of scenes and the ending.

16:29 ah, shit man. It's at this point I remember what does happen next with this scene. This movie is hardcore tho, yo.

19:17 I remember one of the qualms I did have with this movie was the parts where they show their watches. When they're in a suit, it's not so obvious. But later in the movie it shows her watch on her wrist and it looks hella fake, you can tell they used video game kinda graphics to make it. It's the one thing about this movie that wouldn't stand the test of time compared to Interstellar, but like I said, it's not really a contest.

21:20 shit, that guy had an easy, instant exit. We were talking about what really happens to bodies in space in another thread recently... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6rHHnABoT8

22:30 oh man, Bummeritaville!

25:30 I like this part of the movie because we hear more about her story. It's very poignant... sticks with you.

28:40 George Clooney's character really was the central point of this movie though, oddly enough. He did a great job.

30:40 gah, this fucking movie, oh my God though, I seriously can't.

32:50 sigh, man. Holy shit though.

33:45 it makes my neck hot, makes me numb in some areas, makes me tingle in others. Very powerful film... masterful portrayals, writing, filming, the works. Just totally excellent.

34:20 I love his attitude... it really is epic gold. Great character.

34:30 lmfao they made a rocket science joke too. Lmao.

34:38 and she's gonna need some serious therapy/counseling, lol.

34:40 a helluva story indeed.

35:50 FFS, bitch get in the airlock, OMG.

36:06 damn that was beautiful.

38:08 gotta be the quietest edge-of-your-seat movie ever.

39:40 so this part is obviously symbolic what with the fetal position... she's just been through a process that has caused the death of her old life and her old self. She's now going forward into a new life. Pretty amazing. But this is really an in-between stage, just like the fetus in the womb.

46:32 there's the super fake looking shot of her wrist/arm/hand. I am not gonna hold it against 'em though. Not sure why it looks that way, but whatevs.

47:00 of course nothing can just go smoothly, can it?!

47:30 man this movie is just too much, I seriously can't dude.

52:40 dude this movie is scary as shit.

53:20 "I hate space." ROFL. So weird. I laughed, and then when I laughed, I felt like I remembered hearing the audience in a theater laugh at this part too. But I totally didn't see this in a theater. Did I? No way. Did I? Surely not. I definitely don't remember that. What the fuck?? Definitely would have been great in the theater though.

56:55 for real though, she should look out the window if she gets a sec, cuz like dayum.

1:02:38 this is my favorite part of the movie. I remember thinking about this scene a lot. It was very trippy... hallucinatory. Absolutely incredible.

1:04:40 this scene is such a great depiction of what the subconscious mind can do. It can access all the information we've ever taken in and do the work to piece it together. The scene also deals a lot with confronting fears.

1:05:15 it's kinda like how I feel about love.

1:07:40 I like how she gives him the credit even though really it was her own mind... I dunno, it's just so awesome.

1:09:00 this is where her new life starts to bloom... sort of burgeoning, kinda like she's getting positioned within the womb to be born.

1:11:27 fricken amazing, you gotta watch this movie.

1:13:20 definitely a lot of video game graphic elements in here though. I might have to watch Interstellar again with my scrutinizing eye. It only came out a year after this one... wonder if they pulled any of this kinda stuff in that movie.

1:15:15 man, I need to learn some other languages.

1:16:20 this is pretty much what we all say before we come to Earth. If you have a dry eye right now, I'm side-eyeing you.

1:16:40 this is the birth.

1:22:28 one of the greatest movies of all time.
It only took me 3 hours to watch it!

Sweet mother of God, this guy turns me the fuck onnnnnnn.

All that flying. All that piloting. All that authority. ALL THAT RESPECTABLE, NON-JUDGEMENTAL, FRIENDLY DEMEANOR.
1:55 LOL holy crap, his commentating reminds me of what I do!!! ROFL!!! Wow this is just amazing. Thanks to fellow member Dev for introducing me to this guy's video series in that other thread, wow!!! I didn't even know he reviewed these movies before I made this thread!!!
I love pilots... they're so sexy. Especially space pilots.

Touch me.
