You gotta keep that pot lubed.

Listen, we've already determined how keeping a proper degree of lubrication is essential to life IN GENERAL...

https://www.sectual.com/thread-17156.html

You might as well just extend this idea to everything.

There are a variety of oils you can use to lube your rice cooker pot...

You can even use butter.

Just use something with a high smoke point...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:S...oking_oils

Drip some oil in the bottom of the pan and spread it out all over the bottom and all up the sides, either with your (CLEAN) fingers, or a portion of paper towel.

Add salt to the water too.

I digress...

If you ever have to use a scrub pad, you're doing it wrong.

All the rice cooker pot should ever require is your typical soft dish rag...

Oiling it before you cook your rice will make clean up so fast that you don't even remember doing it.

It's that foundational to proper rice cooker function.

Your rice cooker (pot) should last until the aliens get here.

And honestly, you should only be eating brown rice, wild rice, etc.

Kthxbye.
The other big thing that goes wrong with rice cookers is if the pot gets warped on the bottom...

To avoid this, just let the rice sit in the cooker for at least an hour after it's done.

If you take the pot out, dump the rice into another container, clean the pot and immediately put it back inside the cooker unit when it's still hot, it's gonna warp the pot.
