Of course many people already realize this is true, a lot of people already know that thoughts are energy and are therefore readable by equipment which can interpret that energy.

But for the vast majority...

They believe their thoughts are private. They believe there's no way that anyone or anything can read their mind better than a book can be read, and better than anything which is written can be interpreted.

You're profiled, your thoughts (hopes, wishes, fears, and even literal dreams) are recorded and stored to use against you later (in the form of advertising or worse).
