Why and/or why not and what would be the benefits vs drawbacks? (cost to benefits ratio).

I know some here come from a VERY paranoid sect; however, what's the point of being paranoid at this point?

People can be vetted before allowing entry to the discord server. People can be allowed the right to use voice, send/post 
files/links, etc.

There is a Interstellar Discord, but I gotta tell you that I have never been in there. Literally ever. I don't even have the link.

I do have Discord installed, but I absolutely never dust it off and turn it on.

I do not particularly enjoy speaking.

It's not my strongsuit...

Writing is my forte, and I have a deep love for the written word.

Speaking is very cumbersome and just doesn't really come naturally to me.

That's why I am not intensely interested in doing so.

That said...

I would be willing to play with the Discord idea...

I was actually going to start livestreaming at some point.

I have my setup prettymuch ready for doing so and have been making my recent YouTube videos in that style.

Not sure a lot of people are digging it, but it's what I gotta do right now.

I've wanted to do it for years, just never realized the software available these days was so damn advanced. Wasn't really so the last time I checked in with the whole thing back in 2016/2017.

I understand. I'm kind of the opposite way; I'm a better story telling orally. I know a lot of people who communicate better on paper than in conversation.
