I actually discovered a pretty good stoicism dude recently, I call him "Seneca Guy"...
I feel like what sets him apart is that he's a real person and it's not just some basic voiceover channel.

A lot of people are just having AI write scripts now and putting them through a voice generator and throwing together video clips with big bold captions all over them.
It's a massive oversaturation on every front, not sure what it means for the future of content.
In some ways AI could be a great tool for content, but there's gonna be a whole lot of churning out BS just for clicks/views too. The recent uptick in stoicism content is the latter, IMO.

LOL. There will be lots of "Max Headrooms" hosting YouTube channels.

Lol they should require the AI hosts to have Max Headroom style glitches and stutter so we know it's AI.
The voices now sometimes mispronounce words in odd ways, but otherwise sound way too real.

Hopefully they don't figure out how to make them have human style glitches, with ums and uhs and whatnot...
Seems like it would be almost impossible to fake a casual, conversational style anyway.

That's what I don't look forward to about AI... the idea of it becoming truly indistinguishable.
Y'all know I've had mixed feelings and opinions about the whole thing for years, mostly negative ones.
But I do think there could be some good uses for it. I think things will get wild. It's an interesting time to be alive.

I like Matt... The deep fakes are creepy as hell but I agree the subtleties of humor and coded speech will be impossible to replicate anytime soon.

I wanna make it super clear that I have not watched either of these videos beyond clicking through and watching a couple seconds here and there.
I must admit that I do think think AI generated scenery/people is actually very interesting and potentially hella useful. You could make an entire movie from your own idea without any outside help... there's something to be said for that.
Just kinda wonder what y'all think. I mean obviously the tech isn't perfect yet. But at some point, it basically will be. I am trying to be optimistic about the whole thing.

Also, I just think the whole AI thing is further proof that we are in the matrix... it's a simulation with layer upon layer of illusion, from micro to macro, all the same patterns over and over again.
A game within a game within a game.

I guess it could be thought of as super realistic animation... maybe OK for fiction and entertainment, though if it gets indistinguishable from recordings of real actors/scenery I'd like to have a disclosure requirement.
It's all just pixels dancing on a screen regardless so maybe it shouldn't matter, but it seems to me like it does.
There's something empty about 3D replicas like the Eiffel Tower and shit... this has a similar feeling, but you have to know something isn't real to have that feeling.
On some level storytelling and entertainment is a kind of manipulation and deception anyway...
Maybe this just adds another layer. Or subtracts a layer? Makes it more expedient? Dunno.
Seems OK as long as you know you're being deceived... but that sounds like and oxmoron, lol.
It does bring up a lot of questions about the definition of reality

Seems like I vaguely recall this stuff from 90s English classes using terms like postmodernism and simulacra...
Those authors seemed to have it all figured out but they were boring as shit and don't seem to have helped anything

I meant "replicas of things like"...
I'm not 100% but I think real Eiffel Tower is real.
