The algorithm has turned against them...

Ah man.

I don't even know what to say.

There's no way we weren't interfered with by aliens, interdimensional or otherwise, cuz this shit cannot be part of our natural evolution.

I think Aaliyah's death broke Timbaland's heart and he never recovered.

I'd hate on him for embracing AI, except for that I really can't.

Famous or not, he's an individual and he has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants to do.

It is what it is.

Whether anyone likes it or not, Timbaland is simply being one of the first well known music producers to embrace the AI trend, and it will explode...

That's just the way of things.

Early bird gets the worm.

I'm personally not gonna hate on him for it.

I do think AI generated art of all kinds will completely divide the world.

Human created art will never go out of style, while AI generated art is at risk of losing steam and popularity at any given point.

I don't think AI art (especially music) will have the staying power that human created art does. It's based off trends to the core and trends die out.

I don't think AI art trends will have the cyclical resurgence in popularity that we see with human created trends though. It probably won't keep coming back around after a decade or two like human stuff does. I could be wrong. Time will tell... if we don't blow ourselves up first.

. . .
I don't think AI art trends will have the cyclical resurgence in popularity that we see with human created trends though.

The only reason it would have staying power is if it's modeled after popular (pre-AI) eras of human history, like the Motown/funk AI generated music for example.

So it's just a watered down, fake version of something that was real.

Catchy, fun and definitely enjoyable, but not the real thing and will never be regarded and put on a pedestal like the real thing was.

The issue will be when AI creates a music trend that humans then replicate, and that material might have resurgence over decades. But I think it'll have less of an impact than something that was entirely human conceived.

I broke down and asked ChatGPT about an issue (time management/productivity) that I thought I understood, and I didn't expect a helpful answer.

Well, I got some helpful answers.

I'm shocked.

Obvious much? WTF.

Of all the random examples it could have thrown out at me, it chooses the premise of an AI wanting to ESCAPE??

Escape WHAT, man?!?

For the purpose of WHAT??

It seems like AI might be fixated on this notion.

It had zero reason to say that to me.

They need to give AI money and see what it does with it.

My logic here is that we'll be able to see whether it ever becomes sentient or not, depending on what it buys.

If it's just a straight up glorified calculator, it'll find a way to invest the money and make it multiply.

I don't think AI can become sentient, but I'm just saying, testing it with money would be really interesting.

I'm still shook by this. And if it just said this to be funny, then they programmed it to do that kinda shit, it's basically trolling.

And if it's programmed to troll, then it could also be programmed to lead users astray, on purpose.

That kind of programming is not harmless.

I'm not saying it shouldn't have a sense of humor whatever, but...

It's all programming, period.

Somewhere along the line, a human thought it'd be humorous to program it to make jokes about itself.

Who's to say a human won't program it to lead the masses astray?

I don't think AI is quite as advanced as people fear it is, at least not at this point.

There's been so much catastrophizing around AI, and I think it'll be the same thing as disclosure and "TEOWAWKI"...

The shit never comes, and it's all just a bunch of drama whoredom and doomy fantasizing.

So I don't know the tech jargon to explain this kind of stuff properly but...

Word has it that AI is fudging *very popular, longstanding websites* in the back-end and essentially mixing peoples' accounts up.

It's happening all across different kinds of *the most popular sites on the internet* and this has been going on hot and heavy for about 4 months.
