I love Kent Rollins so much. Such a wonderful dude. He has a lot of great cast iron videos and great cooking videos.

It's not ALL creepy... some of it is though. It kinda depends on what the setting/subject is.

Some of it just rubs me the wrong way. I can't explain it in terms that make sense.

I also think maybe my brain doesn't respond to ASMR the same way as people who enjoy it.

I've prettymuch never felt anything that they say you're supposed to feel when you listen to ASMR.

People talk about tingling and all this kinda shit, and I have never experienced that.

At least not with ASMR videos. I've felt that type of stuff with some music.

Ironically I do like whispering in general.

I have a recording device that picks up the quietest sounds in stunning clarity, and I have used it in the past to record voice memos whispering.

I dunno, it's like the intentions (or at least what I perceive them to be) behind some ASMR just sort of makes me feel like someone is trying to exploit/manipulate me.

I don't get the tingles from most of them either, although I've come close with a couple of them.

I only like whispering and very soft sounds when I'm trying to sleep. The "soft-spoken" ones where I hear intermittent vocal cord movement are too jarring. So is crumpling plastic and whatnot. I don't like it when they go to dinging those Tibetan bowls either.

I'm pretty burnt out on medical role play ASMR too. The ones who tell stories about their personal life are my favorites.

Some of those medical role play chicks know a lot about anatomy and have expensive medical equipment as props. Those are the ones that strike me as being a bit off. How can they afford all that stuff? Are they in medical school, or did they drop out, or what?
