Yeah, Reddit is like private now. Good. I don't even know what it is, like you have to pay to subscribe to Reddit now I think.

Well, Reddit and Twitter are under no obligation to make their APIs open to the public for free. Closing the APIs doesn't bother me. I don't have any intention of building an API for third-party apps to interact with my site in the first place. It's intended to be used by humans using a desktop browser.
This business of having AI agents stand between me and web pages that contain the info. I want is concerning. I don't want an idiot savant program interpreting or repackaging anything for me, or guessing what I want to see.
If YouTube bans ad blockers, it'll just drive me away from YouTube. I don't have the time or patience to sit through a couple of minutes of ads every five minutes. The content simply isn't that compelling to me. That's the reason I don't watch television.

While we're on that subject, I'll drop this here.
The previous iteration of my site had some buggy behavior due to newly posted information being linked to but not available. This is because I had several asynchronous processes fetching data independently of each other. There was no way to ensure the data from one source would be present when another source notified the user of its existence.
To solve the problem, all changes to the data will be presented together in one feed. Here's an outline of the unified feed format.

So I guess that they are just gatekeeping on Reddit now. And possible some kind of paywall to link to their content to your website.

This will just drive people to paid content, if they start implementing strict rules on the platforms for users. I'm sensing a social credit score.

I don't see how they could implement a social credit system in America. It's not illegal to not use social media, and it would take some pretty fancy legal gymnastics to make it mandatory.

As someone who gets banned from Twitter every time I join, I imagine my social credit score would be fucked from the outset.

I won't speculate on that kind of stuff further. But yeah I think the mods and banning might be getting stepped up, like gatekeeping communities.

My dad is finally going to take a trip to Las Vegas. He wants to get a place there to retire. I'm gunna go hang out with him in a couple weeks. I used to drive out to So Cal. But it will be good if he does move to the Las Vegas area. He wants me to live in his house. I might. I used to live with him when I was in college. But I definitely had to move out and do my own thing. I might not move in with him. But it is actually nice living with him.

There is actually no way I'd move back in with him though. I can't live with my parents. That's why I moved out. They are too much, like telling me what to do all the time. I like my independence, as you can tell I live on a property out in rural America. I don't like being told what to do. I will visit him often though.
