I was hoping to get an intelligent man's opinion on this!!!
I played around with the fake nails years ago before I ever knew how to take care of natural nails.
It was an eye opening experience, very damaging to the natural nails, causes total loss of strength on the entire nail and it has to grow out entirely and be replaced before they are strong enough to hold natural length.
I'll definitely never do that again!!!
I just love to be able to have long natural nails...
I've never made it to the point of decision when it comes to maintaining optimal length before though.
I think the most interesting part is how much they strengthen once they get used to growing long.
Even the nail bed grows out longer, it's pretty fascinating.
