Sometimes you get taken in by people.

Even if you've got the most well-honed BS radar...

It can happen.

But that's where NOT being promiscuous comes into play.

Because if you're not promiscuous, and it's a special thing when you get involved with someone...

Then you're still defending the sanctity of your values, even if some of your involvements don't work out for whatever reason.

At least you have the foundation of standards which are there to make sure you don't get involved in anything that doesn't seem genuinely promising.
