You can't ever truly know what's in another person's heart...
You can't ever truly know if someone is actually going to be devoted to you.
It's a real bitch, the whole process...
You really gotta watch for red flags.
You have to really COMMUNICATE, before you ever get physically involved with someone.
You have to see how deep they can go, what's the true depth of their intellectual capability?
Are your emotions in synch, do you operate at the same kind of physical level?
Do they say anything that gives you a bad feeling, shit that could point to moral issues?
Do you fucking hate their sense of humor or just think it's stupid?
Do they fucking annoy you, already?
Because all of that stuff is immeasurably important and red flags cannot be ignored, especially just because you think somebody's hot, or you 'want' it to work out for whatever reason.
Because one's own intentions have to be clearly examined when it comes to this...
If we aren't honest with ourselves about WHAT we see in people, WHY we like it and want to pursue them, then we're doomed to fall into traps that, worst of all, we basically set up for ourselves.
Do things for the right reason...
Do the right thing.
