Huh 
This is a phenomenon I've been running into online for several years.

It's legitimately a mental illness, on the most severe end of its spectrum.

But I have yet to hear anyone give this particular delusion a label...

If there is a label for this, please enlighten me. 

It's not 'paranoia' because it's not necessarily a negative thing in these peoples' minds.

I've seen it go both ways, some people take it the negative route and get all scared and paranoid thinking everyone is talking about them, or referencing them.

And I've seen people take it the positive route thinking something that was said that was nice etc. was about them.

Then there's the less severe end of the spectrum where it's just everyday people with no actual mental problem just assuming that you're talking about them...

That's the annoying one. The former is intriguing though...

Obnoxious and genuinely sad, but intriguing. 

And BTW...
