Ann Coulter has even gone so far as to say that women should not have been given the right to vote. I don't know what the answer is but we have fallen from the principles that the Founders enshrined when they buiot this republic. America was never meant to be a democracy. That's why we have an Electoral College. That's why we didn't have direct election of senators. I sometimes think we need to return to the time when only the propertied class had the right to vote. That way, growing up, every person would aspire to own property in order to participate to the fullest extent in the civic process. Nowadays all they aspire to is to turn 18. What is that? Being 18 means you know what it takes to run a country? It doesn't. Only people with skin in the game should have a say.
