The earliest conservative writers like Edmund Burke knew that ownership of private property was the foundation of liberty.
I think rather than revoke suffrage for non-landholders, which is so ingrained at this point that taking it away would trigger a mass uprising, repealing the 17th Amendment would go a long way towards reigning in mobocracy and Federal hegemony.
