what are some foods you won't buy as a generic brand?

Coffee
I think Philadelphia cream cheese should never be eaten as off brand and also Cheese Whiz and Kraft singles.

I think cheese shouldn't be fucked with.

Hmmm...

I gotta tell ya...

Nilla Wafers is one food item that HAS to be brand name.

I tried an off-brand "Nilla" dupe a couple months back and they were sincerely awful.

Aside from that though??

I don't think there's much difference between brand names and off-brands.

In fact most of the time I think they're literally the same product, just packaged differently and prices changed.

I just can't tell a difference in most things.

I agree, I think there is more that are just fine as off brand but just a couple things I won't buy off brand.

I remember when there weren't any off brands and all the milk was just Borden.

Yeah, only a couple of generic foods really suck. If you want a coke or pepsi, you buy a coke or pepsi. Some of those "cola" drinks taste like they're made from dirt. I don';t drink any of that crap anymore though.

Let's see. Not much I can think of. Beer and alcohol I guess. I won't buy sardines that come from anywhere near fucking China. Any canned fish.... I always read the labels and if it comes from some shit hole like China, I don't buy it.

Cola's that's a good one, so true. Off brand taste like you are visiting Europe or someplace.

IDK, it's hard to beat Crown Prince sardines   Smile I've been buying Season brand when I don't see CP, they come close but no way and I buying generic sardines with skin and bones on them.

Yeah! haha! It's like I'm totally spoiled on those and they're expensive. A few times I found another brand at Bargain Grocery Outlet that I think are the exact same thing for 99 cents a can.

It was Wild Planet Sardines. The skinless, boneless ones are caught off the Atlantic coast of Morocco - just like Crown Prince. I couldn't tell the difference.  I'll buy those Beach Cliff ones that are sourced from Canada and Poland. They're okay but they're dry inside. I cover them in a little more olive oil and salt them, but I feel like I'm choking them down. Crown Prince just taste good.

would you look at that! All the brands we eat are on the list. I also like the Season's Mackerel packed in olive oil.
