And I had just finished an episode of The Trailer Park Boys as I began
flipping through the channels before calling it a night when lo & behold...
I happened upon this life-changing experience. It was at one and the same time
the most frightening thing I'd ever seen and also the most brilliant. Still a fave
after all these years. The song, the video AND the band!
I still always think "That poor moose..."

That pencil-thin moustache and slicked-back hair. Hilarity.

Yeah it's a life changing video, I absolutely agree...
Seeing those two kissing is forever emblazoned on my brain.
I really like the song, Jack White sings some of the vocals, and I think he's super hot.
His politics are sheer disease and an utter embarrassment, but I'd let him fuck me.

Because it's part of their crossroads deal...

Sage explains it in the OP video, tl;dr you have to tout their societal degradation based political agenda or you get no more money, you're outcasted, and most often you're just killed.

I know a guy who ditched an incredibly promising acting career for that very reason...
A lot of times they give you a little taste of the fame, and then they present you with the agreement.
There aren't very many people who choose to say no and turn their backs on the promise of fame/fortune.

So I guess the only way to stay safe from all that bullshittery
is to get on an indie label. But I'm sure even some of those
are tainted. Which means doing it all yourself, being your own
record deal/label. It's possible, all the tech these days.
Record companies have really kinda been irrelevant for at least
a decade now, if not longer.

Music has been my passion for a lot of years now but I'm not
signing in blood for shit! Fuck all that. I'll happily keep doing
my thing from the bedroom, knowing I haven't compromised
myself or what I believe in.

That is the true path to freedom and success these days, yes...
Seems like there's always a delay on it though...
I mean yeah there are "overnight" success stories but it just seems like there are so many retarded matrix/universal hoops to jump through it takes like a million years. Gay.

Yeah and as long as you create the material and preserve it there's always a chance it'll be discovered and appreciated somewhere on down the line...
Prolly be dead by then though.
But hey, it IS the dawning of the age of Aquarius or whatever, maybe the universe will stop fucking us and let us finally have something we've worked retardedly hard on for fucking ever instead of giving everything to people who don't deserve it.

I've got their 2003 album "Fire" and it's great!
They're good at what they do!

It's a classic, brilliant IMO.

The guy in this video was a Hollywood stuntman and producer. After he had an accident and broke his back, he started thinking about weird shit he'd been noticing in Hollywood.

I'm kinda wondering if that didn't have a lot to do with why Pat Benetar dropped out at the height of her career to lead a normal family life.
