If we're EVER to get people into positions of power AND expect them to stay on
the honest side of things it's gonna need to be more of a revolving-door policy
and not career politician-ism. That way, they don't have time to get into their 
particular brand of office, dig their heels in and work towards a lifetime of 
corruption using all that time to weave pockets of protection for their illicit
and evil deeds.

Beware the law of unintended consequences.

Cabinet posts and other high appointed offices are already a revolving door, where they work in government for a few years doing favors for their industry or a corporation, then get rewarded with a cushy corporate job when they leave.

They're not really working for the People because their goal is always to further their own careers.
