Huge purses...
#1
I've gone back and forth on this issue...

From small purses to shoulder bags to crossbody messenger bags...

I've been judgemental of women who carry huge purses. I've been a woman who carries a huge purse.

It's not something that matters a lot, but I was just wondering what everyone thinks of chicks carrying a big purse and whether or not it seems kinda weird and dumb to the onlooker.

I guess it depends on what I'm doing...

I have to carry around a bottle of water wherever I go, so that alone makes it necessary to have a purse which can at least fit the bottle of water, in addition to everything else I carry.

I need a purse big enough not to bulge or have stuff poking against the material that makes it obvious there's way too much shit in there... this applies to smaller purses obviously.

As far as purses, I think there's acceptably big, and then there's TOO big.

I'm just not 100% sure where the line is drawn.

I've carried a clutch like two times in my entire life.

They're pretty, but totally useless.

I need room for a regular sized water bottle, 1 mini water bottle, 1/4 roll of paper towels, at least two bandanas, huge rolls of $1 bills (anybody else?), a ziplock with all loose change, extra ziplock bags, at least 2 different lip balms, nail clippers and files, super glue, 20 different cards, random pieces of paper, 2 heavy sets of keys, at least one phone (and a tripod if I'm feeling narcissistic), a portable battery charger, cords for my devices, a book or two, pens/pencils/markers, an extra pair of glasses (encased), and there are probably other things I'm forgetting.

Those are just the necessities.

It doesn't take a psychiatrist to know that having a huge purse could indicate a lot of baggage, mental or otherwise. I'm sure it says a lot, but I think it must be a little harder to nail down a precise meaning. Fear of not having enough/what you need, obsessive qualities, phobias. I'm sure there are a lot of conclusions to be drawn, but the matter seems sorta generalized.

Pretty sure I heard a (female) comedian joke once to watch out for chicks who carry a huge purse... LOL!

I also heard one (maybe the same woman) joke about women who wear flower headbands being total psychos. Well I guess that explains it!

I think cars serve as handbags for dudes. If you are in a guy's car and you peek into the storage under the middle arm rest, you'll likely find all types of things you might associate with a handbag. The things you mentioned are all there (water, small bills, case for glasses + backup glasses), lots of receipts, maybe an engraved man-bracelet, unopened mail, a book, a firearm, a wallet, old credit cards, a couple thumb drives, some lists of things to do, etc.

Satchels are great...

I need them to zip open from the top though, I won't carry a bag with a flap.

Satchels are for gay ass bitches who can't use a backpack.
If I can fit my 17 inch laptop in my backpack, which has a water cell.
Then so the fuck can they.

My Zip-Loc full of change has holes in it from the weight of all the coins in there. I keep it in the door pocket in my car.

I tried using a nylon messenger bag as a "go bag" when I was traveling for work, with predictable results. The fucker wouldn't stand up straight or hold its shape. I'd need a really stiff leather bag if I were inclined to use one at all.

I don't like the look of backpacks or the carrying upon the back aspect.

I actually custom modify my purse straps to snap around my waist.

Like a big fanny pack.

But it's easier than carrying by shoulder strap and more secure too, no one can just snatch it off your shoulder as they go by.

It can also be carried on the shoulder like a regular shoulder strap... I just have the option of snapping it around my waist as well.

What are those black thick plastic snap buckles called??

I have tried to find them for sale many times but can't find any.

I got a few sets from an old ripped up military backpack and I just keep reusing those.

So not only am I dealing with the "how big is too big" question when it comes to purses...

But now that I am admitting I wear the fuckers like a huge fanny pack, now it's some next level shit.

I guess I should just give up on the notion of looking normal whatsoever if I'm gonna take this approach to purse carrying.

I like the convenience of it though... much more comfortable to wear around the waist and far easier to access the contents on the go when it's a zip top bag.

If I'm carrying a small bag I'll wear it directly in front, but with bigger bags, I twist them around to my side and I think that looks better.
