My Aaliyah CD comes in the mail tomorrow...

They did an excellent job to get these CDs in our hands DAY OF.

I cannot wait to see it again.

The CD arrived today and I'm stoked...

However, I will say that it arrived in odd condition.

The case is strangely broken in a few places, INSIDE.

The CD itself has an imperfection in the top left at about 10 o'clock...

I ripped the CD immediately to listen for imperfections in the tracks, seems totally fine, so that's good.

But I don't know if that fucker would even play right in a CD player. That's a big fuckup right there.

Makes me wonder what the heck is with the batch of pre-orders they sent out... were they an imperfect batch?

Are they gonna print more?

Did all the other ones come out fucked up??? God I hope not, man.

Is this Mercury retrograde or something? Let me check. Nah, it's apparently later this month.

Well, anyways...

I hope this was a fluke and the other prints are fine.

There is one song on the album that I don't like, it's called "Never No More". It's not even a "bad" song per se. It just isn't my thing. "I Care 4 U" is also rather sad, but it's great musically and vocally, so there is no qualm to have with it.

"Extra Smooth" is one of my favorites...



To my delight, they uploaded the songs on the official YouTube channel in time for the release.

So those songs should FINALLY be there to stay.

Imperfections and all, I'm still stoked to have it, and it looks the same as the original, as far as I can recall.

I think the color might be a little darker than the original, on the front and back covers. Other than that, it looks exactly the same.

Each song ripped in perfect quality, so I am not complaining.

For me though, I love having CDs. I love the inner sleeves and all that kinda stuff. I love the smell of a CD.

I hope they popularize her album hardcore with the youngsters now...

Hopefully they'll take to it well and like it.

I think the music is timeless, it's not dated at all in my opinion. It will always be unique and fresh.

Not to mention Aaliyah's entrancing beauty, that will really stick in their minds and they'll at least be curious.

I think she'd be a great influence for young chicks today especially, they might see her and feel the way I did...
