The algorithm has turned against them...

I know it's comforting and logical to think that...

But no.

No corner of the internet is safe from this, and they want it all.

Dude, there are like a dozen vans that parked on some of the lots in my area. They had a dog barking all morning. I yelled at them. lol. I never do but. like what the hell are they doing? Im pretty sure they are squatting or else I wouldn't say anything.

They've been there for like a month now almost.

I finally realized how to haul water in my Corolla too. My neighbor had told me how, but I did not understand why at first..

Anyway, you have to haul it in your trunk, because that is where the tie-downs are for ratchet straps or ropes, or else it is considered an unsecured load because of the weight of a water tank.

You can do the 5 gallon jug though, in your cabin area, which is what I was doing.

But if you want an actual water tank, that is how you do it.

They totally are. It's a fricken vanlife convention down there!

My guess is, someone posted the gps coordinates, and was like "Dude, chill camp spot right here."

This is why states just need to step in and offer super cheap parking at a week stay limit with security on site 24/7.

Yeah. Too bad I can just call the sheriff... I prob won't though.

Vehicles are registered when they come in, and the same vehicle can't stay in the same parking area for more than 7 days per a 30 day period. Maybe even 60 days, as long as there are enough parking areas in a ~500 mile radius.

I'm writing that software as a possible add-on for my site. But I'm mainly doing it because it's something I wanted to do at the newspaper, but never had time.

I can make it very hard for them. They have to log in to even see anything as it is. I was planning to change that, but now I'm having second thoughts.

The software was originally named "Bolthole BBS" for a reason.

Definitely don't change it.

Not even sure why I allow this forum to be visible without logging in... it might not always be.

That's a fairly nuclear approach though... don't really wanna do it.

I just accept at this point that AI is ripping me off, but at least I am not purposely going over to ChatGPT etc. and talking to it.

Whenever I learn that someone is actually talking to AI on purpose, I don't see 'em the same way again.

It's a huge disappointment.

At some point I might want to talk to Dev in private about a huge issue I suspect is taking place with hosts these days, something that might render the internet fucking useless for people like us...

Now isn't the time to talk about it, but if I see too many more signs that my suspicions are correct, I will want to discuss this with you.

If you know anything that will impact my choice in hosting providers, I need to know about it pretty soon because I'm getting ready to order hosting for a year.

I may get an upgraded plan at Bluehost that will allow me to run cron scripts more than once every 15 minutes, but I'm open to suggestions if you know of something better.
