I love the points... that's my favorite thing about telescope images.

This reignites my love for space photography that I was into super hard back many years ago.

I loved it so much... I have a lot of books of photos from the Hubble.

Will be really nice to have a book of photos from the James Webb someday.

Space imagery really did just suck me in for a few years back in the early 2010s.

I became pretty obsessed with space in general.

I was particularly interested in the idea of interstellar communication.

Wanted so badly to be able to communicate with aliens, lol.

So funny to look back on those times with the deeper understanding that I have now.

It feels good not to have that longing anymore though...

I had a legitimate longing, damn near tormenting...

I just wanted to communicate with aliens so badly.

Ignorance really isn't bliss. Knowledge can bring a lot of peace, though sometimes is hard to accept at first.

When I got my netbook in 2009 some of the first pictures I saved were space telescope images from the NASA website.

When I looked at nebulas and shit through a telescope eyepiece though, I was somewhat disappointed.

You see all those photos on NASA's site and all the stunning colors...

It's really not very fair to the masses to see those photos and not be educated about the fact that it looks nothing like that through a telescope.

You actually have to look out of the 'corner' of your eye to see nebulas through a telescope, can't look at it straight on and see anything.

And when you do see it, it's very faint, black and white.

That was my experience at least. Was really cool to look at the planets, like Saturn though.

Saturn was a trip to look at, wow... WTF.

Really amazing experience to look at stuff through a telescope but... I got spoiled on the space pr0n presented to us by NASA and amateur astronomers who put the pics through a buttload of rendering and whatnot.

I love space... I truly do. And I still think we could communicate with aliens interstellarly someday. I just don't long for it in a super sad, desperate way anymore, lol.

Space (nebula, usually purple) wallpaper is the first thing I ever look up on any new device.

I always make certain it's coming from NASA's own site rather than any of those sketchy websites that offer free wallpapers though, gotta be safe.

Some people may look at that and say "ERMERGERD LOOK HOW SMALL AND INSIGNIFICANT WE ARE THOUUUUGHH"...

But it doesn't make me feel that way at all.

We're smaller bodies inside a bigger body inside a bigger body, with smaller bodies inside us down to the tiniest particles, infinitely.

It's all the same...

Doesn't matter that there are innumerable planets and systems out there, it's all made of the same stuff and the story is the same no matter where you go.

Doesn't matter what perspective you inhabit inside of it.
