0:20 this is how it sounds in my mind when I read it.

That guy’s tone got aggressive pretty quickly. Private dick narrators are usually even-tempered.

I couldn’t really make out what he was saying because of the background noise in here. The Wi-Fi doesn’t reach outside, probably due to the metal cladding on the building.

That reminds me. I had the idea today to build a Bluetooth jammer to shut down the shitty rap music. Lol

It’s painted concrete blocks on the inside. I’m guessing the steel on the outside is there to prevent some psycho from taking a sledgehammer to it. Lol

Did I mention this outfit is overrun with dogs?

A lot of large, aggressive dogs that their owners can’t control have been turning up lately. This morning, a big dog got ahold of a small breed dog and wouldn’t turn it loose.

There was a woman around here until recently who had a mama cat and four kittens in a duffle bag. A pit bull got ahold of the kittens somehow and killed them in the most gruesome way.

I’m supposed to be avoiding direct sunlight while taking my medication, so I can’t stand here weazing the Wi-Fi any longer. I’m looking forward to using a real computer again so I can give you my thoughts on a number of things down here.

Yep, I’m laughing all the way to the bank with this pop racket. Lol

That little dog that got attacked this morning is messed up, but he’s all right.

The shade in the day shelter parking lot disappears around 10 AM. To avoid direct sunlight, I go to the park and flop down on my quilt under the covered picnic area there. I read the Bible, eat lunch, and sometimes doze off for a bit. Nobody ever messes with me there. Today, I got a pound of deviled egg potato salad and a tin of smoked salmon and mixed them together. Good stuff, Maynard.

It’s still hot as fuck here. Even the wind is hot in the middle of the day. It normally rains for a week this time of year and then cools down. I hope the rain has merely been postponed, rather than canceled.

A lot can be found in isolation, especially in the desert.
In the desert; you can't remember your name and there
ain't no one for to give you no pain.

Best Wishes and Good Luck!

I went to the record store and looked through the bins for an hour and a half this morning, then went to the park. Someone evidently had a birthday party in the park Saturday night. There was metalized plastic confetti stuck in the grass that twinkled like gems in the sunlight. Chocolate cake dropped all over the picnic area. They had moved the trash can from the curb to the picnic area and stuffed it to overflowing with trash.

When I arrived at the park, there was a homeless guy with a bicycle and two big bags standing under a tree at the other end of the parking lot. He spent some time reorganizing the stuff in his bags, then somehow managed to pedal off with one of those huge bags on his back and the other over one shoulder.

I had a shitty day, but I’m not inclined to bitch about it or go into details about it. I’m feeling pretty zen right now. I’ve come to accept being surrounded by idiots.

It’s supposed to be 99 degrees in the morning. I’m going to wound care and the social worker tomorrow. I think I’ll make a day out of the VA hospital.

Let us know how your appointment went, Dev!!!

I misremembered the date of my wound care appointment. It’s on the 30th, not the 20th. I’m not good at remembering numbers.

I managed to change my contact information on the Social Security disability application. The social worker called them on her phone. We were on hold for 45 minutes before they answered. Evidently it’s still under review by the field office where I used to live, and I didn’t miss any communications from them while I was out of touch. They deactivated the online account that I can’t get into, so that I can start a new one.

While I was at the hospital, I followed leads on some programs that could potentially get me into an in patient recovery facility and out of the shelter. That turned into a rabbit hole involving X-rays and lab work. It was late in the afternoon, so I ended up leaving to keep from losing the bed I already have. I’m going back in the morning so we can continue where we left off with all that shit.

Well it sounds like great progress was made today regardless of the appointment mixup, so I'm happy about that.

I didn't qualify for any of the inpatient recovery programs, but I did get food stamps in the state I moved to, which qualified me for a free government Android phone.

The phone store was an adventure in itself. First, their system went down for a couple of hours, during which time they were unable to complete the setup. Then they went through two defective phones before they got a working one. I wanted a blue one, but I guess all the blue ones were defective. I ended up with a silver one.

THAT MERCURY RETROGRADE THOOOOOOO.

This phone doesn't rotate the screen when you rotate the phone. You get what you pay for, I guess. Lol
Reply
It also has a slow processor and takes awhile to charge.

Screen rotation is extremely standard... check in all your settings, the option is in there somewhere. Google the name of the phone and 'screen rotation' if you don't wanna fuck with looking through the settings.

It rotates now. It was in the little toolbar up top.

With a cheapy Android, make sure you uninstall all the garbage apps, and every time you do a software update, look through the app list again and uninstall everything they installed back on it. They slip at least 3 bloatware apps into each update. The higher end Androids don't do this, but if you ask me, any Android cheap or not is better than iPhone in this current era.

Look up articles about how to save battery life on an Android and follow all those steps.

I am not gonna blow smoke up your ass and act like a $30 Android is gonna equally perform like a high end Android, but there are a lot of ways to make it usable.

BTW, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you didn't "qualify" for inpatient recovery.
