I saw a certified Security-Six with Very Good metal and wood and Excellent bore for $650. It's collectible, although the original rear sight has been replaced with a non-moveable military sight.

A brand new SP101, Ruger's more robust successor to the Security-Six, is $729 and up.

Or I could get another dainty little .38 Special pocket heater.

The Security-Six is a steal at that price, so it'll probably be sold before I get ready to buy a gun. That leaves the SP101 if I decide to get a .357 Magnum,
