That might not be a bad way to go, Fannie. Suppose they were having a mile low club and lost control of the sub?

No, it's not a bad way to go. The only thing that would make it "bad" is if you knew for any amount of time beforehand that anything was going wrong. Like I said earlier, worst part about it is being in that close of proximity with several other people for more than a few minutes. If the vessel imploded, death would be faster than instant.

With that amount of pressure involved, death would be so fast that it essentially warps fuckin' spacetime. It's not even remotely the same as say for instance the way people die "instantly" in a motor vehicle crash.

Lookner stream is discussing the sub's toilet currently.
Yeah... it's a fucking dismal setting, let's be real.
Very fucking bad idea to resign yourself to being trapped in that thing.
And they paid money to be there.
It's wild.
Not likely I'd get in the damn thing to save my life, to be honest with you...
At a certain point, it's just better to die.
Ironic and bizarre observation, sure, but I am just being real.

Did they mention if the sub had a name?

The best case scenario is that it's afloat somewhere. Still can't imagine they'd have a lot of luck finding it in time even if it was. Even if they were on the surface they probably wouldn't be able to get out, and if they did get out, they'd be in the middle of the coldass North Atlantic with no flotation devices. Hard to say whether they'd even be able to get out of the floating sub before it capsized even if they could get the door open. 6 ft. waves currently apparently... I doubt the thing is even that tall.
When you have a macabre obsession with something that requires you to get into this retarded situation just to go and look at it... you have a problem. I include James Cameron in this assessment, but it should be no surprise that there's something wrong with that guy.

It's called the Titan...
Facepalm. Lol, I mean.
Just wow. But...
Hey, I don't wanna be all judgemental of dead people.
They really should not have offered these "missions" to the public in the first place.
Just a terrible idea all the way around, with equally terrible motivations at the core.

Lookner is hungry and he's going to grab a bite to eat and then get back to the story.
You really gotta admire that sumbitch's dedication.
He's something else.

Hamish Harding is the billionaire on board...

LOL. The "Titan".
They should have just gone with "Tits Up".
I had a feeling the sub would be named after a shipwreck.

Fastened with 17 bolts from the outside as per Lookner stream...
There's probably no way for them to get air even if they were floating.
According to some source he's reading, this guy who was the vessel one time said they took 1 sammich and 1 bottle of water for each person.
How long was the underwater segment even supposed to last?
96 hours of air, one sammich and one bottle of water?
Ghetto as shit IMO.

I might pay that kinda money to go to the moon or something...
I mean, you'd be in a way bigger vessel than THAT, lol.
At least if you're on a doomed mission going to the moon, nobody can say you had a weird macabre obsession that cost your life.
Again, not trying to shit talk these peeps who are likely dead at this point but...
Shrug, I mean it is what it is.

I think there's something suspicious about the whole thing though.
Some people are speculating that the billionaire guy (Hamish) has faked his death with this stunt.
Some are suggesting it's sabotage because Hamish knew something about Antarctica that he wasn't supposed to know, or that he was using his money to make plans to go there again poking around where he wasn't wanted.
I guess being super rich is dangerous when you use the $$$ for shit like this.

Their site is tarding out cuz of too much traffic.

Quote:Day 3 - 7 Titanic Dive Site
Once the submersible is launched you will begin to see alienlike lifeforms whizz by the viewport as you sink deeper and deeper into the ocean.
You don't say.
Quote:The descent takes approximately two hours but it feels like the blink of an eye.
So they lost comms at 1:45:00 into the descent. Blink of an eye indeed with the pressure at that depth... ~12k feet.
Quote:Day 8 St. John's - Newfoundland - Canada
Signal Hill is the first thing you'll see as we motor in to St. John's. Take a moment to reflect on all that you have accomplished – you're one of less than 300 people in history who have dove to the world's most famous shipwreck.
There are a lot of great ways to see Newfoundland, and that sure the fuck ain't one of them. Why didn't they just go to the Titanic museum at the Johnson Geo Centre? Or hit up the Cape Race Lighthouse to visit the place where the first SOS signal from the Titanic was received? Or go over to Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Halifax, NS to visit the graves of over 100 of Titanic's passengers? Just not creepy enough for them I guess.
Quote:We do recommend that you restrict your diet before and during the dive to reduce the likelihood that you will need to use the facilities.
Gee, what fun.
Quote:Enjoy hours of exploring the wreck and debris field before making the two-hour ascent to the surface.
So apparently the whole underwater segment was supposed to last ~8 hours.
They're already in a bad way if they're even still alive at this point. Over 24 hours, one sammich and one bottle of water? Sigh... toilet probably doesn't even empty anywhere. I'm guessing they're dead, and that's probably preferable to whatever they'd be dealing with if they were alive in that situation.
It's really pretty grim. If they didn't implode and they really are that far under there, they can't be rescued for a plethora of reasons anyway. Best case scenario, they're floating and found within the next ~60 hours.

They should never do one of these stupid expeditions again.
The site of the Titanic's remains is a graveyard anyway.
What the company is doing by facilitating these "explorations" is akin to digging around in a burial mound whilst wearing neon g-strings and dancing to the Village People.

Regardless, this is just another continuation of the massive loosh harvest that was the Titanic in the first place...

This loosh harvest has been going on for 100+ years and it's paid them massive dividends.

Wow...
Now that is FUCKED up.
They signed waivers...
Wonder if that really means none of the families can sue over this.
If so, that is very unfortunate because it's clear that vessel should have never been in operation at all.

It was controlled by a rigged gaming console controller.
Let that sink in.
And people paid to be on this thing.
And this company was allowed to carry out these expeditions.
Pure insanity.
