Description: It's a sharp knife on a long wooden shaft. Cold Steel made it. I like it. The video is a long version of that.

[Hanwei Practical Ninjato Review]

Description: This is going to be a weird ride, considering the mood I was in when this footage was taken.

13:06 man this pisses me off so bad because I had no idea that it's not good to leave too much oil on the blade.

I really have been leaving too much oil on the katana for the past like 20 years and those cloudy spots on the blade probably really are the beginnings of rust.

The Warrior Series blades don't have a high shine, so it's harder to see any imperfections, which I prefer. But I can definitely tell there are spots that don't look quite right.

I dunno why it pisses me off, it's just a sword, it's not a big deal but...

I love this fucking sword. I want it to last forever and ever.

I've never done anything dumb with it, hell I've never even cut through water jugs with it! It's not like I've abused it or something. I just didn't know you weren't supposed to leave too much oil on it.

Sigh.

I should have known though cuz the blade will get little splinters of wood on it when you put it back in the sheath and if it just sits there for a year with too much oil and little pieces of wood on it...

Of course it's gonna cause spots on the blade.

These spots do look like fingerprints though...

And they are without a doubt absolutely not my fingerprints.

I have NEVER let that happen.

So either they're from the previous owners (and therefore decades old) or somebody touched my fucking blade in the time that I've had it...

I could tell you some spooky shit about that sword, things that defy logical explanation, and the fact that it's still with me after all these years considering what we've been through, pft...

Nothing short of a miracle.

But that ain't even the weirdest part.

Essentially man?

Some years back, somebody was handling the sword in my absence and they absolutely should not have been.

They were disrespecting me.

Anyway, when they put the sword back in the sheath, it "locked" itself in.

No one could open it for a couple years.

I kept trying every now and then and eventually it did open.

Quote:Place a very small amount on the blade and spread with a clean cloth. As a guide, if you can see or feel the oil, you have placed too much of it. It should really be minimal.

I use cut up t-shirt sections to clean the sword.

I'll take one cloth, wipe the blade.

Take another cloth and put the oil directly on the cloth, then wipe the blade again.

Then take a final dry cloth and wipe the blade again, then put it away.

I dunno, maybe I'm overreacting.

Maybe I haven't been doing it wrong and those spots really have been on the blade since literally the beginning.

I mean now that I think about it, I kinda do remember them being there prettymuch the whole time.

If they've been there the whole time, then it doesn't look that bad. If it was rust, wouldn't it y'know, LOOK like rust??

It looks nothing like that. This shit is transparent, you can't even see it besides at an angle.
