so much for most of the vegetarian's rationalizations.

some flora even has forms of conscious awareness accessible via empathic/telepathic means... like certain variety of mushrooms and cannabis.

so basically the creator is one messed up mofo that wants all of us (plants and animals) to feed off each other causing pain and suffering and early demise ...this is why i sorta stopped believing in the bible religions and i now think we are all one giant alien experiment

yup. the religions were created by the aliens[/interdimensionals/whatever term] performing the experiment[s].

and that's the thing about duality. pleasure necessitates pain. life necessitates death.

I think the vegetarian's argument relies more on making a distinction in the qualitative difference in consciousness of plants and animals.
humans > monkeys > chickens > fish > insects > plants

Yeah people are always making the argument to vegetarians...

"PLANTS HAVE FEELINGS AND YOU'RE HURTING THEM JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER ANIMALS!!!"

ROFL...

Animals are fucking BORN out of their respective mothers' vaginas. Whether it's a cow getting birthed, whether it's an egg that pops out of the poopchoote of a feathered... it's still BORN. We have that in common... we all came from a warmblooded mother who crapped us out of her hoohah.

Under this logic it's more understandable to eat birds than it is any of the other warmblooded animals.

Plants aren't born from a creature... they come from seeds, it's totally different. Their communication mechanisms are more an act of natural networking for the cause of survival rather than for contemplation of the universe or something. Now don't get me wrong... I ain't saying they don't contemplate the universe or whatever kinda crap like that but let me be clear. Cows? You think they contemplate the universe? Probably not. Do you think dogs contemplate the universe? Probably not. It's whatever's in front of them. These creatures live for THE MOMENT. It's even less probable that plants are hanging around thinking about that picture of a supernova they saw. Now cats contemplating the universe, that's another thing...

Plants have been using humans and other animals as fertilizer since forever, so it balances out.

Also, if the plants didn't want us here they wouldn't make the oxygen we need, and provide fruits and vegatables.

The plants also need animal organisms creating carbon dioxide for them.

Well when you zoom out on it all...

Earth is a giant organism and everything on it is part of its body.

So, of course it appears symbiotic...

Because really none of it is separate.

we are the bacterial flora and fauna in a petri dish ...

Yeah...

It's sort of a fractal kinda thing where there's the scientist, and the petri dish...

But then if you zoom out far enough you see the scientist and the petri dish are actually inside a bigger being, that is inside a bigger being and so on, infinitely.

It's like a hall of mirrors and the truth is that all is one, yet, there isn't even one...

It's all just illusions/hallucinations and there's actually nothing besides raw intention, which is actually just an energy.

I think that's where the whole idea of the electric universe comes from...

http://www.sectual.com/thread-2482.html

So is everything really just the hallucination of a brain in a vat?

Well, yes and no...

See, I'm in the 'no brainer' camp.

I believe there isn't even a brain ;)

There's only nothingness, 'dreaming' = pure energy which aligns itself into different patterns/codes which then read out/translate into the dramatic play of existence.
