teddy in his prime

I think about this sometimes.

Someone today asked me what I think about the death penalty, and I explained my thoughts on it...

https://www.sectual.com/thread-14415.html

But it got me to thinking about Ted Bundy, and how he was WRONGED as a child.

He was WRONGED. And no one talks about it. People know, but they just act like it meant fucking nothing. Like it didn't matter.

Well it did fucking matter.

His world was shattered when he found out the TRUE IDENTITY of his mom as a teenager. That is PROFOUNDLY damaging.

Quote:Family, friends, and even young Ted were told that his grandparents were his parents and that his mother was his older sister.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Bundy

That is SICK, fucked up, and WRONG, and those people responsible had a hand in the way Ted turned out. They had a direct hand in the wrongs he committed later in life. They WERE RESPONSIBLE. Not in whole... sure. But in part, and I believe, IN LARGE PART.

Quote:Bundy expressed a lifelong resentment toward his mother for never talking to him about his real father, and for leaving him to discover his true parentage for himself.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Bundy

Oh but let's not talk about it. Let's not put blame where blame is RIGHTFULLY DUE.

Fuckin' fuckers.

Quote:Some family members expressed suspicions that Bundy might have been fathered by Louise's own violent, abusive father, Samuel Cowell, but no material evidence has ever been cited to support this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Bundy

This wouldn't surprise me at all, since we're talking about people who would lie to a child (and everyone else) about something so serious.

Quote:In some interviews, Bundy spoke warmly of his grandparents and told Rule that he "identified with", "respected", and "clung to" his grandfather.

I'm not a rocket scientist, but maybe it was cuz he somehow knew it was his DAD??

And regardless, it WAS the only "dad" he had.

Quote:Bundy described his grandmother as a timid and obedient woman who periodically underwent electroconvulsive therapy for depression and feared to leave their house toward the end of her life.

Sounds like the kind of wife/mother who stands idly by while her children get molested (and otherwise abused) by their piece of shit father.

Quote:In 1987, however, he and other family members told attorneys that Samuel Cowell was a tyrannical bully and a bigot who hated blacks, Italians, Catholics, and Jews, beat his wife and the family dog, and swung neighborhood cats by their tails. He once threw Louise's younger sister Julia down a flight of stairs for oversleeping. He sometimes spoke aloud to unseen presences, and at least once flew into a violent rage when the question of Bundy's paternity was raised.

Sounds like the kind of guy you couldn't put anything past, to me.

Oh but nooooo.

Let's put ALL the fucking blame on Ted.

The way he turned out was probably a solid 60% other people's fault.

And if he really was born of an incestuous situation??

Maybe there was something wrong in his BRAIN.

A ganglion gone awry, anybody??

Proportioning our parts, the tinsel and the paint
A twisted nerve, a ganglion gone awry
Predestines the sinner or the saint

Oh but nah. Ted was just evil. He was just bad and evil and it was all his fault.

If we started looking into other killers etc., I bet we'd find a whole lot of fuckery just like this was going on in their lives as kids.

"Evil" just sounds like such a retarded explanation in light of the FACTS.

And this applies to the use of the term in general, if you want my opinion at the moment.

Just seeing the absolutely gargantuan scope of human ignorance displayed in this example alone??

And I'm not trying to make excuses for Ted, the adult serial killer.

I am standing up in defense of the CHILD who was LIED TO by EVERYONE he was supposed to be able to trust.

All of this reminds me of what Clif High says about how people with mental illness excrete a smell (pheromone) that isolates them from others...

It's not a coincidence that all this information got tied together today.

Let's stop blaming shit on "evil" and "demons" and start calling it for what it really is.

It's trauma. It's chemical. It's broken people doing fucked up shit because somebody fucked them up.

Ted Bundy always told people to try and understand what made him so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. So that people don't grow up to be sick twisted fuckers who wrong other people, feeding the vicious cycle.

But he didn't even understand what made him. He thought it was the porno mags in the woods. Maybe he had a deeper understanding than that, who knows. Regardless, that's what he blamed it on the day before he died. The way I see it, he must have felt like porno was a big problem in the world... so it does say a lot.

However, let's remember...

He didn't just find out his "sister" was his mother. He also found out that the man he thought was his father, WAS NOT his father. He found out that the woman he thought was his mother, WAS NOT his mother.

He lost 3 people in one blow... they became strangers because they betrayed his trust on the deepest levels possible.

One of those people was never replaced, couldn't even be given a new role because they were missing entirely... his real father.

And let's not even go down the incest rabbit hole, because imagine adding that on top of it. But you think he never heard those rumors?

Let's blame it all on him though. Just blame it all on Ted. It's all his fault.

Their excuse for telling him those things just doesn't even add up...

What were they gonna tell him about his grandparents if he ever asked?

They're dead? They live far away and never talk to us?

If you ask me, his grandfather WAS his father...

And you know what? That just makes it all even worse.

That just makes the trauma to his young mind even more insurmountable.

But it's his fault, so let's just make sure we blame him.

Let's call him evil instead of traumatized and mentally ill due to that trauma.

Because that makes sense, and that takes us forward as a collective humanity.

Yeah stuff like this makes me question death penalty . i believe in punishing these sk fuckers to fullest extant even slow torture, however its prolly better as a society to keep these damaged people alive as a testament to how not to raise/treat a child...and further psychological test subjects and scientific brain studies in the future that might detect things we cant see now

Well said, Guest.

I always forget about his "sisters" who were really his aunts...

So literally no one in his life was who they said they were.

It's debated how old he was when he found out.

I think he was between 8-12. Ann Rule said he was 23 when he located the birth certificate in Vermont. I think he knew before then though. Doesn't really matter... it happened, and whatever age he was at the time doesn't make it any less earth shattering.

His mom left with him and moved to WA to escape his violent grandfather, so who knows what he was doing that was bad enough to pull Ted out of that environment.

I was doing a search for their family pictures and I saw some articles mentioning this whole family lie debacle and questioning if it was the reason for his behavior as an adult. So it's a point that is being given more thought these days, but it's still unsatisfactory.

We gotta look at these whackass situations that some kids come up in and consider whether or not it's bad enough to result in detestable behavior as an adult... people need help when they're kids and teens, before it's too late.

He was right man, people gotta open their eyes to those in the community around them. If little Johnnie has been abused or some other crazy situation has gone on in his life, he needs some therapy before it's too late.

From the sound of it, his grandfather's crazed abuse alone was more than enough to be the cause of his problems.
