I'm sure YouTube has been a fascinating case study, for many entities with many aims

I mean, what a soap opera right?

What a honeypot of human psychology.

But one aspect I find to be the most interesting is the fact that we tend to only watch people on YouTube who we 'vibe' with...

Now, this seems obvious. But it's actually pretty profound.

There are people on YouTube with millions and millions of subs, who I have never even seen before. Whenever I hear of one of these mega popular people, I'm always totally repulsed by what complete idiots they are. In short, we don't "vibe"... at all. Like not even a little bit. Therefore, they never make it into my sphere of "YouTube consciousness".

Now of course, YouTube's own algorithms fused with your recorded browsing interests does play in to what is shown on your recommended feed, or at least historically that has been the case.

But there's something that goes into this which is beyond the algorithms. In fact, the algorithms were made to further study and further facilitate this 'attraction' which happens between certain types/groups of people.

One hell of a honeypot. One hell of a case study.
