After further consideration, I have concluded DTube is dangerous and the platform should not be uploaded to or commented upon. I would question the motives and credibility of anyone suggesting its use. I also consider it unsafe for psychological and mental health reasons. I suggest using only platforms where your content can be permanently removed.

There’s no middle ground with this ‘blockchain’ model.
This is why I've been against putting social media users' content in a blockchain all along.

VidMe's comments section was better than YouTube's, and it notified you of comments without drowning you in TMI (e.g., putting the whole fucking comment in the notifications menu like YouTube does). I think it may have even jumped directly to the comment when you clicked the notification.

3:50 the gravely serious problem with blockchain.
It's a trick, folks.
Beware anybody who pushes these blockchain sites, especially the video and social media sites.

Anything that doesn't allow for a hard delete of uploaded material OR
the account itself is NOT to be trusted! How hard is it to just enable
a function of 'delete forever' ?

That goes against everything blockchain is about though...
See that's just it...
It's presented as the savior when it's actually the devil.

Well, that just makes blockchain retarded.
Humans need ON/OFF boundaries. Like light-switches and TV sets.
If you can't turn something OFF off, or delete it 'forillz' then it's bullshit.
Anybody selling anything different is a greasy liar and the truth ain't in 'em!

This is the new retarded blockchain video hosting site Styx is pumping...
https://lbry.tv/$/following/channels
It calls itself "the most decentralized" and looks like...
A formless blob, only...
Rectangular.
LMFAO.
Is there at the very least an info page informing people that if they do join and upload content, they'll never be able to delete the content or moderate comments on it whatsoever, no matter what sort of material those comments contain? That'd be an important thing to warn people about.
What a fucking disaster.

The fuck was it trying to load to my computer and why?
I mean it was a SLOOOOWWWWW process too, PLENTY of time to get the fuck outta there without it finishing.
Why can't these proposed YouTube alternatives JUST BE NORMAL FUCKING WEBSITES???
This blockchain shite is fucking DUMB.
It's gimmicky, it's obnoxious, it's NOT MEANT TO RUN WEBSITES!!! LMAO!!!
So fucking stupid, wow.
You know Styx has said before that he only started using the internet around like 2010 or something...
Whenever his oldest videos are, that's when he started using the net or not long before that anyway.
He was dead serious too.
So excuse me if I don't take advice from Styx on how to use the internet...
He's older than me and I have a good 12+- years of internet use on him.

So that means the sick shit that people will inevitably upload to the site will also be hosted on every user's computer.
LOL, geez, WHAT THE FUCK COULD GO WRONG??

Wow, so that is EXACTLY how it works.
Ahahahahahahaha oh my God.
Words cannot even express how much I fucking despise these blockchain sites.

Not only are blockchain video hosting sites not an acceptible YouTube replacement...
They are a HUGE trap, to be AVOIDED at all costs.

I thought about a website where you can post anything you want on your channel and only people you allow would get to see the content or certain content. That way you don't have to worry about copyrights and people can find you by word of mouth or hints you leave out.

Yeah and that would also allow effective blocking of people you don't want seeing your videos...
You can block people on YouTube but they can still see your videos...
That said, do I think this feature SHOULD be a thing? No.
But...
As you demonstrated and as I corroborated, people DO have this idea.
