Lookner spent ~42 total hours covering the sub incident.
He is excellent at his job...
Far better than any of the talking heads on dinosaur MSM.
God bless the internet.
He deserves every dime of whatever he earns, without a doubt. He may be biased in a lot of ways, but he only ever lets it break through during highly meme-worthy, mouth-frothing moments that go down in niche internet history. That's a win.
18:07.
Kinda sad to see this Stockton guy talking about it... he was obviously passionate about the whole thing. We keep hearing reference to "billionaires" and whatnot in this situation, but honestly, this guy was clearly on a budget. He wasn't fucking with no Elon Musk kinda money, that's for sure. Yeesh. If you can't do it RIGHT, don't do it at all... but still just a really unfortunate ending to this guy's personal dreams and aspirations.
19:55 he was clearly just a really obsessed nerd when it came to this whole ocean exploration thingy. Which leads me to question... where WAS the funding for what he was doing?? Cuz it really does seem like he wanted to be the SpaceX of the ocean though. It really seems like he had big goals for "innovation" just like Elon does, so why didn't he a get a bunch of money behind it like Elon has?
Could it be because the only "alien" life that really exists within our local space neighborhood is HERE on the planet, and perhaps within the ocean's depths? Countless instances of people seeing UFOs rising out of all kinds of bodies of water, including oceans all over the world. So... is deep ocean exploration more of a threat to the official narrative of this planet's history (and humanity's origins) than traveling to space??
20:15 you could tell he had way too much confidence in the whole thing though.
22:14 oh man... so he's describing the porthole area which was only rated to a pressure of 1300. He actually says it'll start to crackle before it fails so you "get a huge warning"... oh my God man, I bet that's literally what happened. I bet they found that piece without the window on it. That's pretty bad because he'd know exactly what was going wrong and that it was deadly right then and there. I doubt they had a whole ton of time to panic, but still... that's fucked up. It'd be one thing if it had only been his own life on the line, but with the paying passengers... just makes the whole thing look bad.
22:56 you can tell he really loved this. Unbelievable man, just... it's a lot.
24:04 and here Stockton is talking about HOW HE'D LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED.
24:18 yeah well... maybe it wasn't the carbon fiber after all. I have a feeling it was the porthole. It's the elephant in the room with the literal proof that it wasn't rated for those depths. Result is still the same whether it was the hull or the porthole... doesn't make much of a difference. Still pretty eerie to see this though.
24:34 wow... he literally said what I said. This is much more intense than I figured it could be.
He just said the truth of the matter, right then and there.
I never expected to hear that shit out of him.
I admire your persistence covering this story. Better than lookner maybe, idk I haven't watched his streams on this one.

He basically said all the "alien" type of life is in the ocean and that building bases on other planets is stupid and a waste of money and Earth is the only place we should be conquering to ensure the future of humanity.

More alternative than Lookner, but...
I dunno, this shit just took on a whole new light IMO.
I think it needs its own thread for archival sake... we will discuss it in the future and bring it up again anyways, so might as well.
You would think there was some kind of abort procedure when things went wrong down there.
That's weird that they didn't have a better protocol to abort the mission.
Those posts were both me. I hit the post limit.
Steve's been covering the "Russia coup" for TENNN FUCKINGGGG HOURRRSSSS.
Pooty's totally gonna have that Priggy guy executed if he gets ahold of him!!!
Lol.
I'm sure it's all an ops. Those two have been friends for 30+ years.
I think he's probably trolling the public and the press, with Putin's blessing.
Supposedly Russia has planned this thing to make it look like they're weak right now and give Ukraine a false sense of security.
People always play down Prigozhin because he was Putin's personal chef.
They should remember that Steven Segal was just the cook in "Under Siege", who turned out to be an expert Navy Seal.
Maybe that's why Putin also has Steven in his circle.
Steve is drooling over the hundreds of miles of closed highway in Russia, creaming his pants over the idea that Putin could be overthrown!
He's really going strong for being on air for over 12 hours at this point...
It must be the subject matter that has him so enlivened.
