It's great because of the high smoke point.
The things I typically eat from day to day call for olive oil for their own reasons, so it will not replace my daily olive oil intake.

Man, the finish the almond butter is giving it though... it's gorgeous. Sooo goldeny and pretty.
Peanut butter is a little sweet. I think WITH the honey, it'd be too sweet. I don't want it too sweet.
The fruit in it will give it enough sweetness.

Yes and toasting the dry ingredients makes me wanna change the way I eat oats from now on.
They're a very flexible thing...
You can do so much with oats, many ways to prepare them.
But toasted?

There's no way I'll be disappointed with it because the finish on it looks gorgeous and toasty regardless, and I think knowing what's in a snack like that (one attempting to be at least somewhat health conscious) is a lot better than buying it, whether it turns out in a "bar" form or not.

To my surprise, most of the pieces actually retained the bar shape once they were cooled completely and stored.

So I've been eating some of the granola at random throughout the day and I have to say...
It's hearty, somehow seems heartier than the storebought.
I was wondering how long this single batch would last and I think it's gonna be awhile.
Making your own is definitely more economically efficient than buying it, no doubt about it.

And there really is so much you could do with granola as far as the ingredients. It's about as diverse as the use of oats in general.

The granola gets better after a few days. That's kinda crazy, I figured it'd get stale fast for some reason, but it just gets better.

Leftovers are a thing.
Back in the earlier years when I was sorta just learning to cook, and still learning the principles and getting attuned to it all...
I was kinda grossed out by leftovers.
But now, I utilize leftovers fairly often.
I do have a 3 day rule regardless of ingredients though, like even if it'd be good for longer than that, I prefer to just make fresh.
Like take rice for example...
So I use filtered water to make rice, and if I change the filter in the pitcher but I still have any rice leftover from water out of the old filter, I throw the rice leftovers away.
It's sorta like clearing the energy.
I might be southern, but I'm also a spiritualist fruitcake.
