Quote:Dry air is starting to have a toll on the western side of #Dorian. Recent microwave imagery shows the western eyewall completely open, which will lead to further weakening of the storm.

Quote:While the maximum winds have decreased a little, Dorian is expected to remain a dangerous hurricane for the next few days. Dorian is also expected to continue expanding in size, so significant wind, storm surge, and rainfall/flash flood threats continue for the Southeast US coast

And those are just the parts that aren't totally submerged at this point.
Dorian was the worst storm in modern history for that area, no doubt about it.
I think there will be permanent changes to the geography.

The breaks are seeming to hold more in a circular pattern now...
Kind of like a really big eye but not technically an eye.
Could see some cat. 2 action for mid to north part of FL coast.
It'd be crazy, but after what we've seen with this monumental disaster of a storm, would it be all that surprising?

People are saying it could restrengthen but I don't think so...
I think it'll probably hit some coastline as a cat. 2 pretty soon.

The big thing about this storm is the surge...
It's been stirring up so much shit, surges will be messy and probably pretty sudden.
And judging by footage of that guy getting swept off the pier, I'm thinking there could be loss of life along the east coast just due to total stupidity.

no kids of mine would fear a bit of rain and wind. they'd know how to slap them storms right across their faces!
i'd also have cultivated their intent to the extent that they, on their own, could re-vector or flat out dissipate a storm system. hurricane gypsygift did exactly as it was designed and directed to. interestingly, the fears of the masses was actually pulling the storm back into FL. all you knuckleheads need to do is calm down, sit down, relax a bit, and visualize the storm fading away, both in intensity and in vector. 5% of the state is plenty to do this and it'd work every time. until they got an equal or greater group of people to do the opposite.
they opened up the hatches to the underground areas on the private islands. they are now flooded out and buried with sand and debris. operations have been relocated to less known island systems.

It's not about fearing the storm...
It's about having some respect for the scores of people dealing with a horrific nightmare of biblical proportions merely 100 miles away...
30ft. fucking surges...
Enough said.
Yeah take pics of your cloudy beach and laugh it up kids...
Someday life will hit you hard.
that's the end of the hurricane season , pretty sad
