There are other things they're trying to divert attention from, but apparently this is the biggest one right now.

If they lost track of it on radar, paired with the other pilots saying the object in Canada interfered with their senors, this means the objects are scrambling somehow.

That said, I still think this is a massive attention diversion, or something they've been planning all along.

I think Lookner was right when he said that they're just ramping up security in the airspace and this is just a bunch of shit that has always been floating around up there.
