It looks good until the end where the dude talks lol... Seems like there's a long way to go with matching words to mouth and stuff like micro expressions, vocal tones etc. Huge amount of subtle information conveyed in the coordination of those things- way more than in just text, sound or pictures alone. And human perception in this area is extremely honed. 
Although people do seem to be getting more socially retarded when it comes to face to face communication, so it may hardly matter.
But as of now I'd just call it highly realistic animation.

Seems like some people who make these videos are able to arrange the prompt so that the lips actually match what they're supposed to be saying. This video shows that it is possible.

I think this is the funniest one yet. It's probably scripted by a human, I don't think AI could come up with jokes that good. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Biggest limitation right now is that generated clips are very short. As soon as they get expanded to ~5 minutes, people will start making full length films.

They won't even use real life actors anymore... writers will just feed it all to AI and out pops a movie.

You could have wholly fabricated actors, or you could use 1980s Tom Cruise in the lead role. But of course if a "real" actor's image was used, they'd have to agree to it, get royalties, etc.

The future is going to look a lot different... 10 years or so and this will be the new normal.

Lazy people will just go 100% AI and not even bother writing a script. Where this tech really shines is giving any screenwriter the ability to make a movie by themselves, from the comfort of their own home.

Prolly just wishful thinking on my part that ultra-realistic screen puppets won't take over everything, but maybe that's all actors have been anyway. I guess an AI Tom Cruise would just be a next level of abstraction from the digital image of real Tom Cruise that's currently in movies? Not sure if my brain handles it well though.
And don't know if People Magazine still exists, but if it does it should at least change it's name when it starts gossiping about the AI actors!

Same here, and I would never blame people who are going to boycott any movie that is made with AI. Cuz they will. At least in the beginning.

I understand why people would feel that way, I'm not hot about the idea either.

But if I was a writer and I wanted to see my vision on the screen, and there was no chance of it happening besides with AI, I'd be over the moon that it was now possible. (Or will be soon.)

This is gonna be so interesting to witness in the coming years. I am not taking any of it for granted either, or at least I'm trying not to. I sincerely think this is an incredible time to be alive.

This is one thing that I do find unsettling about AI taking over art and whatnot...

Don't get me wrong, it's not gonna "take over" cuz humans still have to make the choice to use it, or set it in motion.

But when AI models and actors and even musicians start popping up, there WILL be some type of fandom that forms around them, there WILL be some type of "gossip" that pops up.

I just dunno what the hell it's gonna be about.

It's one thing if we psychoanalyze a movie which was written by a human, but created with AI.

That makes sense... a human is still behind it.

But if we were to start analyzing strictly AI created works, that would be something worse than an echo chamber, or entropy... I don't even know what to call it. Is there a word for what the fuck that would be??

Pft. But it'll happen.

At the core of it, we're just analyzing humanity, because that is what all AI has been trained on. So there is some comfort in that fact.

If we were to analyze a purely AI created work, we'd be analyzing humanity as a collective.
