I'm way, way newbish to the whole thing and was wondering - before YT video readings - did Tarot readers associate zodiac signs to readings? I kinda think it may have always been a thing, maybe with some readers, but it also kinda seems like it would be a more recent addition. Idk why. Like in the old days - before internet - when people would actually GO to a tarot reader and sit in front of them as they pulled the cards. Just seems like including zodiac signs wouldn't have been a part of it - unless the cards were screaming it and it was just super obvious and the reader felt it was important enough to mention. But I'm also not real astrology smart either, so they may have always kinda gone hand-in-hand.

I guess this qualifies to be posted here.
So, I was in the kitchen a while ago - 6:47pm to be exact, for all you time-nerds - just standing there washing dishes when I seemingly out of nowhere break into song... "Land spreadin' out so far and wide..." Uh yeah, idk either. But I didn't fight it. In fact, I kinda liked it. A lot. Like, A LOT A LOT. : /

Sometimes just stepping out your front door can be an adventure!
I found these two little guys right outside. One was on the outside of my door. When I opened it to come inside to get my phone, it shot over the top and onto the inside of my door! Gecko 1 It's blurry and dark because I don't have a light in my living room AND I didn't want to get close enough to freak the little booger out and cause him to scurry off elsewhere into my house! I opened the door right after this picture was taken and tapped his tail with my phone and he shot back over the top and onto the outside of the door. But not before I snuck back out and got this beaut!! Gecko 2 I was able to get super close and allow the camera to focus real good. I really like this shot! On my wooden post on the porch.

OK, so today I tried something I've been wanting to do since my late teens! Painting!!
https://imgur.com/csJvM28 This is my first ever painting and I had a LOT of fun doing it! I can see this becoming a habit!! lol Acrylic paints on canvas. Took about 90 minutes.

The texture on the bottom right blows me away, dude...
There's so much duality in this painting, I dunno how else to describe it. I love the little bits of color added on each side, they look meaningfully placed, not haphazard. It's great, can't wait to see more.

Thank you!! I really look forward to my next one! More fun than I've had in a long time!!

The black figure at top right reminds me of an evil Disney queen.
^^^ This is why I love abstract art.
Makes me wanna paint!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, this is painting Number Two. Funny enough, it took me two hours! Ha!
I think I'll entitle this one The Quiet Hell. https://imgur.com/ZJKiNTk Got so lost in the activity that I didn't even drink any water the whole time and now I've got a splitting headache from being a little dehydrated. Derrrrrrp. *chugs some water* Oh, and beforehand, me and Betty [Crocker] baked some fiiiiiiiine chocolate chip cookies! Waaaaaay better than last time. I used coconut oil today instead of butter. Soooo much better!!

OK, an update of sorts.
I'm really loving this painting shit, haha. Up to my fifth one and I've already gotten comfortable enough to squeeze paint out right onto the canvas! Been using pieces of thin but sturdy cardboard as a palette knife - to good effect. I won't be able to get truly roguish until tomorrow - when my real palette knife and two 4'x5' drop clothes arrive. I wanted the 6'x9's but they were double the price and I'm not opposed to cleaning up a little widely flung paint! Already had to do that several times! Something I'm going to be adding to my arsenal - modeling paste! I wanna do some weird crazy textures and shit! Also, maybe bottles of the liquid acrylic paints. Working with these very small beginner tubes is great but by my third painting I was already feeling their limitations. So that'll be cool. And those canvas boards look pretty neat. I want to try one out and see how it feels. What it's like to work on a hard, solid surface instead of stretched canvas. I think it'll be pretty cool. |
