Dang, Dom's channel is no more? That sucks.
I often wondered, in the long gaps between her uploads, if she was OK and hanging in there.
Seemed like a good, decent, sweet kid.
To address her using notes in her videos: Schizophrenia might, in some/lots of people, make it difficult to
think/talk in an organized, linear fashion. The meds, the illness, the stress of it all. Reading from notes may
have been like keeping an outline of subject matter they wanted to cover w/o missing anything.

20:46 Clif High addresses why schizophrenics smoke cigarettes, a point we've discussed in this thread and a topic I find particularly fascinating... http://www.sectual.com/thread-317-post-1...l#pid14476
35:00 he begins to address a lot of important points about schizophrenia... I recommend just watching the whole video, but if you don't, these timestamps are most important re: this topic.

20:46 on to 29:00 - it's great to hear him let loose and drop a series of f bombs. the stuff he's talkin about, the ecstasy and agony, and dulling and attachments... he's spot on. i haven't sat down to crystallize the words to that but i have lived exactly what he's talking about and come to the same conclusions.
i'm actually rather shocked at myself lately, instead of going for THC laden flower, i'm stickin to high CBD flower. stickin to that middle ground, away from both ecstasy and agony.

The connection between schizophrenia and people of above average intelligence remains pretty obvious.

After I laid down to go to sleep lastnight, I thought of something important that I wanted to say on this thread...
But I was so tired that I couldn't stand the thought of looking at a bright screen again and I was like, "I'll remember this," and yeeeah, no idea.
Pisses me off!

OMG I remembered, THANK YOU GOD! YES!
So this blonde chick I posted above said she started hallucinating smells... olfactory hallucinations.
My point was essentially to ask if anyone has ever dreamed of smells?
I have dreamed about flavors... but I do not recall if I've ever dreamed about smells.
Seems like such senses in dreams are related to what's actually going on in your environment... like if your breath is rank and you dream about a bad taste. Or maybe if something's cooking and you dream about the smell because of it.
OMG, that seems vaguely familiar... maybe I've dreamed about a smell based on something that was cooking while I was asleep. I can't remember specifically but it seems familiar.
The point is, dreaming about a smell when no smell was actually present... is that a thing?? Has that ever happened to anyone??
As you all know, my theory about schizophrenia (principally) is that it's due to a malfunction of a gland that secretes chemicals in waking life that should only be excreted during sleep state, if the body was working properly/had no malfunction.
So if anyone remembers dreaming about smells, when there were no smells in the environment to account for such a dream... please post here.

i don't dream about smells, or tastes, or tactility, and rarely anything auditory. i don't usually see anything written or printed either.

It's interesting how dreams are so different for different people!!!
Wow. This thread is amazing.
Almost the best thing on this site.

I wish the user who mentioned poltergeist like occurrences during intense emotional moments posted more.
I’ve actually experienced something similar.
I wonder if shit like that is a lure to let go...then you do, and regret it.
I have a general distaste for engaging in woo outside my own culture, but there are strong links between native shamanic stuff and tobacco.
The ginger in the desert smoked compulsively when he thought he was drawing with magic crayons.
I did too. For almost the same reason.

But in the interest of rationality, I’ve got this thought, too:
Nicotine is a powerful stimulant.
Stims make people super paranoid.
And sometimes see shadow people.
Stimulant hypersensitivity could cause delusions.
So does stimulant withdrawal.
I’d be interested to know if avoiding all stims including nicotine and caffeine for long enough to get past withdrawal, impacts schizophrenic symptoms.

tobacco has MAOIs in it which a lot of people [unknowingly] use to self medicate. sudden removal of MAOIs in individuals can have some nasty effects.
incidentally, i think this is why some people couldn't switch to vaping from smoking - vape blends don't have those MAOIs, just the nicotine.

I was actually reading this article just the other night:
https://www.health.harvard.edu/newslette..._good_side
I was prompted to look it up after listening to this Kelli Coffee broadcast:

1:57:50 she's right, it's so true re: smoking, OMG Kelli is brilliant.
I think it was in her latest broadcast that she said nicotine itself has health benefits...

No timestamp for that. But she was speaking about the topic and I think it's very interesting we're exploring the topic right now.

He also had no history of smoking cigarettes prior to that either.

I've heard hoodoo practitioners talk about how the spirits love tobacco smoke.
Seems like tobacco smoke and mediumship have a history of going hand in hand.
But I think if anything, the lack of nicotine would leave schizophrenics worse off...
I know that's fucked up to say, but anyway, I think a study should be conducted.

I learned this myself the hard way
i have had more than one psychotic episode while binging out on nicotine gum to try to quit my 25 year habit (intense paranoia, putting myself in danger etc. etc)
I got plenty of other mental stuff that isn’t fixed, but it took a long time to realize that the stimulant part made it worse, the MAOI made it better.
as of now, the best solution I’ve found for that dichotomy is edible cannabis.
pharma MAOIs are too speedy.

i invited him along, and called him up all the time.
sometimes he helped.
once he really didn’t.
wasn't who I thought he was.
doesn’t want my glory
only his.

While not directly related, I'm sure there's a tie-in somehow.
Schizophrenia and smoking/cigarettes.
Datura use [deliriant/dissociative mimicking severe mental illness] and the
compulsive smoking of phantom cigarettes. This was something experienced
by nearly every user that had ever taken a large dose, bordering on overdose.
A datura "overdose" isn't always fatal, but it can be. Depending on the amount
ingested/used. An "overdose" can be anything from a terrifying bad trip to actual
physical symptoms and body/organ issues. All the way up to organ failure and death.
I just thought there could be a possible overlap here with plant induced madness
and an actual mental condition. Involving cigarettes, both real AND imagined.

It'd be great if people could successfully replace their cigarette habits with phantom cigarettes.
It reminds me of Terry the Plant Psychic...
