I want to upload a selection of my paintings as NFTs, in a collection.
I also want to make exclusive content to upload as NFTs. That's how excited I fucking am about all this.
But I do realize that what's popular is digital art, not handmade art that was scanned and then uploaded or whatever the case.
I am not saying I'll never make digital art... I am just saying that it just doesn't interest me or appeal to me that much.
So like everything else I do, I'm a niche within a niche and no one will care. And I know that. But it won't stop me.

CryptoKitties has been around for about 5 years. That's pretty good.
I heard they're gonna move over to Flow for faster/cheaper transactions, but hearing this kinda shit makes me nervous.
When I make NFTs, I wanna know they're going to be around forever.

I don't 100% get how it all works, so that probably sounds dumb...
But I'm trying to figure it out and understand what the fuck is going on with this whole NFT thing.
It's leagues beyond exciting.
I put out a Google alert to email me whenever "crypto pets" gets mentioned anywhere, and I got an interesting alert the other day...

So people are making their own crypto pets art/collections and trying to become a hot new thing...
Which could totally work.
But I think a lot of the attraction of crypto pets and digital pets in general has been the platform upon which you collect them and interact with the community.
Take Neopets for example... wow. What an absolute internet crack fueled run of fucking niche greatness their legacy has been.

Then for example, the collectable aspect of gigapets. People want these 'pets' housed on platforms that are stand-alone and identifiable. Brands. Catchy names and phrases.
So of course starting collections on sites like OpenSea and Solsea is a great idea and absolutely should be done...
But the goal is to stand out and be brandable and therefore recognizable, and be something you can tell people about word-of-mouth and have them be able to easily find it.
That's why I think domain names are always going to be a very important part of the internet... that's never gonna change.

so they have a partnership with degenapes for instance. they had checkmarks on the verified degenapes collection and individual nfts. of course, there's nothing to stop someone making it look like a degenape listing, sans the checkmark. they're tryin to have it so you can have legit, high value nfts from other chains get ported over to sol to avoid the insane gas fees.
i was hangin on in their discord shitposting on all the idiots who have zero chance of making it the next few years. throwin fits over the fact they got ripped thinkin they got a real degenape for like $80, throwin fits over not currently having access to an nft they spent $0.40 minting, and what i perceive as obvious fud agents from other sites. reminds me i don't want to deal with shit like this, lol. i don't wanna deal with a comment section, a discord for support, i fuckin hate the average dumbass.
i do like taunting them, though. too bad they put super slow mode on the solsea discord. suppose i should learn blender.

I didn't get it when I made this thread, but I am really starting to understand.

solsea is reopening on sol testnet soon, if you wanna fuck with that. not sure if they're giving out testnet sol or what you gotta do to get that. suppose i should investigate and really fuck around on testnet so i can hit the ground running on mainnet on solsea, or another platform.
suppose i could fuck around with nft stuff on other testnets. there's always too much i wanna do.
FTX, formerly blockfolio, is really pickin up as a wallet and exchange and is now doing nfts. seems to be only for USD which is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh maybe sometimes i want that. idk. but it's there.
if i could get with the right combination of funder, programmer, and artist, oh god the shit i could produce. none of the nft games out there right now are actually good games, it's just window dressing on pushing nfts. stupid fucks.

For some reason the idea just rubs me the wrong way.

I ran across another ETH wallet I forgot I fucking had tonight, and I couldn't believe it... it was nuts dude. It was a wallet I had made almost like 2 years ago to collect MORE CryptoKitties. And they were really fucking baller kitties too man, not the vanilla ones from that other wallet. Lmfao. I'm like duuuude... the 21st century though.

I remembered why I started the other wallet with the other CryptoKitties in it...
I was pissed cuz I couldn't change the name on my original CryptoKitties profile lmfao.
But I seriously don't remember collecting the kitties, gas prices HAD to be way cheaper at the time.
It's so high right now that it's unusable. That's why this whole Solsea thing is so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
