There's something weird as hell about Chapel Hill.

When I was a youngster, there was was a town just east of Tyler, Texas, named Chapel Hill.

Or at least I always thought there was. When I visited that area a couple of years ago, I discovered that the town is named New Chapel Hill. This puzzled me, so I did an Internet search and wasn't able to find any evidence that a town named Chapel Hill ever existed there.

But...

This map clearly shows the town of Chapel Hill exactly where I thought it was.

I think it's a very old 'codename' town that represents something in the masonic circles.

Try looking up Chapel Hill directly on Google Maps. You get Chappel Hill, a town hundreds of miles away from Tyler in west Texas.

Chappell Hill, actually. Two Ps and two Ls.

If you look up Tyler on Google Maps, you'll see Chapel Hill right next to it.

But you can't find any mention of Chapel Hill if you search for it directly.

But that was what I heard in my head back when I made that original statement about some oddness surrounding Chapel Hill.
