They're calling off school and work in China... then again, it is the holiday. That isn't really so important until AFTER the holiday would be over anyway. Just saying. So yeah, it SOUNDS hardcore. But in reality, it is the holiday.

Well I guess if we're gonna plan a mini-freakout, this'd be what we should start with.
I guarantee you people will still dismiss it as "not as bad as it could be".
Another reason why we're at this point right now.
I have a feeling we're not gonna hear anybody droning on and on about the importance of having "open borders" if this thing is real and spirals out of control.

I was just thinking this before reading your post. And that's globally, not just in China!

The Twitter search page used to auto-load new tweets if you scrolled up from the top, but it no longer does that and there is a ~10 second latency on tweets... I can only assume this means they're being throttled and put through who knows what type of filter.

They're running out of medical supplies IN GENERAL.
Which is a crisis for EVERYONE...
What about pregnant people?
What about people who are ill for other reasons?
This impacts EVERYONE in China who may need ANY type of medical attention for ANY reason.
And China is the place where ALL OF THIS STUFF IS MANUFACTURED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
THINK about that shit.
So not only did the rest of the world shoot themselves in the foot depending on China to make fucking EVERYTHING...
But even China itself will have serious trouble trying to keep up with making supplies in a situation like this.
44K+ people being tracked under "medical observation"...
*shakes head*
There's just no way to keep up with that.
