They fired/replaced some officials prior to releasing these new numbers, and have changed their criteria for what counts as a confirmed case, rumored that they will only count those who are currently showing symptoms...
Problem with that is the "incubation" period is so long.
Does sound like they're trying to be more honest on some levels, it's really quite confusing.
Quote:Huge spike in coronavirus numbers from Hubei today. 14840 new infections reported and 242 deaths. Authorities attribute this to door-to-door round up of potential carriers. Numbers elsewhere in China are falling. #CoronavirusOutbreak

So they are CT scanning people for presence of pneumonia symptoms and counting them as cases...
It seems they are doing this because the test kits are so totally inaccurate.
It's a pretty sad development in my opinion.
And in order for them to proceed with the new criteria and number methods, everyone has to get a CT scan...
I think that alone is enough to prove the numbers are way way bigger than they have been saying.
That's crazy.
The test kits are a joke...
Seems like they almost never show accurate results, which has been proven time and again by those infected testing negative several times.
And that really should not be very surprising considering this is a NOVEL coronavirus and they have had no clue what the fuck they're dealing with until recent days, if even now.
So basically...
The numbers have to be at least 4 times higher than they've said because at least twice the number of people who are confirmed are probably infected and will never have a scan or test to verify...
And those people who never get tested/confirmed will probably infect at least 2 other people.
is it against the law to cough on people if you are sick ?
I mean literally cuz I believe it is legal to fart in public
Steve made a good point...
People with lung issues who DON'T have the virus could be declared confirmed and shipped off to a quarantine camp where they're definitely going to get infected.
I just had a thought, maybe slightly off-topic.
Speaking of cruise ships: I wonder why they haven't been much
of a target for terrorist attacks over the years? Think about it, thousands
of people all in one place usually out in the middle of nowhere in
international waters.... Seems like a perfect target.
I am NOT suggesting they become a new target for sicko terrorists
but I can't overlook the obvious. You bomb the shit out of a cruise
ship and there's a LOT less chance of survival due to it being on
water. All the regular injuries compounded by being at sea, possible
drownings, hypothermia, shark attacks, it would be horrendous!
Dude, yeah, I mean, you're right, it's crazy there hasn't been more violent shit to go down on cruise ships, but I'll tell you what...
They'd have to approach it from the outside, pirate style or something because they search you hard when you board cruises...
They take everything that could be used as a weapon and if you have any ACTUAL weapons, well that is obviously gonna be a no-go.
Cruise ships are extremely locked down operations.
The only thing that could happen on a cruise ship re: terrorists would HAVE TO BE an inside job, would HAVE to be totally overlooked and allowed to happen by management or whatever.
Because otherwise, nobody's sneaking jack shit on a cruise ship.
I hear ya, I guess I was meaning more like 9/11 style attacks.
But hi-jacking a plane[s] or a fighter jet would prove to be a whole
nother added level of difficulty. And also now being in the drone-age...
But yeah, actually sneaking onboard with weapons/explosives would be
near impossible even if it were an inside-job. I'm glad it's not a thing.
